Seems a bit odd to have an event a week before the release, and then ANOTHER one on the day of the release, but Whadjagonnado.
I mean, I guess I don’t mind moving my SD card over to the WiiU for a while to download pictures, but still.
The guy carries a pickaxe.
It makes sense for Nintendo, as it’s a day kids are home, so they can get the game right away. Indeed, it became the LAW in Japan after several releases for hot games actually caused measureable drops in school attendance.
In the case of releases that come out on Tuesdays, Amazon ships early, so items DO arrive on the day or release. But here the problem is obvious - no deliveries are made on Sundays, so Amazon can’t get the games to people on day of release. But for some reason, Amazon doesn’t ship early so that at least people can at least get them on that Monday. No, they SHIP on Monday, so you don’t get the games until Wednesday if you’re an Amazon Prime member and get free two-day shipping.
Waiting one day is still annoying, but acceptable. Waiting THREE days is the equivalent of a full generation of technology in this mad crazy world.
In the case of the hint books, which are also shipping after release date, the savings is enough that the wait is acceptable. But Amazon can’t discount the video games much at all, so there’s no appreciable savings to make up for the wait.
In the case of the Nintendo 3DS releases, I’m planning on getting most of those via download to save space and make carrying them convenient. The Wii U games, I’ll get as physical discs in most cases - the amount of storage space on the Wii U is fairly small, and I prefer having the discs in most cases.
Am I the only one who finds the extra three day wait too much to bear?
My sister doesn’t even know who Darth Vader is *SIGH*
Perhaps after she’s toilet-trained you can show her the movies.
